Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toniz Collins is also referred to as Antonietta Gonzalez-Collins in both the US and Mexico, is an American-Mexican sportscaster. She currently works as a sportscaster for ESPN who is also an anchor of SportsCenter reports and hosts SportsNation. She began working for ESPN in the year 2016. She is the daughter television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins was bilingual since the age of nine years old a useful skill that helped her secure her first position working as an assistant to the producer for Univision in Miami that gave her the chance to work with the producers of national programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. Then she was promoted to a reporter for CBS St. Petersburg. CBS St. Petersburg affiliate in the following year. In 2009, she relocated to Rio Grande Valley, Texas to become an investigative reporter for the Spanish station KNVO TV 48 Univision and Fox2 News. The stories she covered were about immigration and drug trafficking across both Texas and Mexico. She would also fill in on occasion as a weather and sports anchor. She was then anchor and reporter for Univision Dallas' Deportes 23. The station then gave her more responsibility. She reported on events like the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series, the Dallas Cowboys as well as the NBA Postseason as well as the Finals FC Dallas FC Dallas Stars. She produced Univision 23 Accion Deportiva Extra as anchor. She was appointed as the sports anchor for Despierta America Deportes for their morning show. She also played the position for Primer Impacto on UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta's parents were originally native to Veracruz Mexico. The city of Mexico City she was conceived on the 22nd of November, 1985. She has an older sister. Her family relocated into Miami in 1992, after having left Mexico. They divorced shortly thereafter and in 1995 her mother remarried an architect from the naval profession known as Fabio Fajardo who passed away from kidney cancer in 2006. While on a trip with the family in Ohio, the younger Collins took a place along with her sister. Antonietta who was in high school who had a vision of how she would like her life to be like, visited Mount Union University to determine if the school suited her. Then, she fell in love with the campus. They also offered her a an academic major. She completed her schooling and was accepted into the University with a degree of media studies. Her professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM, and was student in her class, formed an ongoing relationship with the student. Professor Bergmann was a great influence on her by his love of journalism. Also, he deeply affected her.
